The astrology of 2025: what to expect

Recently, you have read all about Pluto entering Aquarius for the next 20 years. That’s big news but nothing compared to what’s about to happen in 2025. Many outer planets will be changing signs in 2025. Neptune will move into fiery Aries, Uranus to Gemini, Saturn to Aries and Jupiter will move into Cancer. To have many slow-moving planets moving into new signs is monumental and life-changing! The way we look at life right now will change and I think it is important for everyone to dive deep into themselves so we can handle these changes with clarity and confidence. Let me give you a basic understanding to what this all means.

Neptune moves into Aries on March 30, 2025.

The planet of illusion, spirituality and deception will move into the fiery sign of Aries. Going from Pisces to Aries will be a big shift as Neptune feels secure in its home base Pisces where it has been since 2011. In Aries, Neptune invites us to think about our individual dreams and spiritual journeys. Something that we might notice is more people who will fight for their independence and personal goals. The last time Neptune entered Aries was in 1861, when the American Civil War began.

Big social and political changes are very likely because with big astrological shifts like this, it is really inevitable to witness these major changes. Neptune in Pisces is a very watery transit, highlighting events that feel unreal and out of this world. I personally predict that when Neptune enters Aries, and I believe we can already feel this today, we will feel more confused about identity and there will be a lot of people talk about crisis and individuality. The way we view ourselves as human beings might be questioned more. This can be a good thing actually. Where Neptune in Pisces was more focussed on the collective and spiritual realms (think: religion) Neptune in Aries will be more about finding yourself and maybe even creating a new shape.

Uranus moves into Gemini on July 7, 2025

Uranus, the planet of revolution, disruption and chaos will move into witty Gemini on July 7, 2025. This is another big change after being in Taurus since 2018. In Taurus, Uranus was all about changing how we relate to our material possessions and finances. Uranus’s last Taurus transit, coincided with the Great Depression and World War II (from 1935 to 1942). Looking ahead, Uranus’s return to Gemini in 2025 signals a world primed for both disruption and ingenuity. It invites us to break out of outdated systems, challenge old ways of thinking, and embrace a future where knowledge, communication, and technology redefine what’s possible. I think we’ll see more self driving cars, AI improvements and different ways of connecting to movies, television and playing (video)games.

When Uranus enters Gemini, the winds of change will feel airy, less grounded, and more intellectual. Gemini, ruled by Mercury, governs communication, ideas, information exchange, transportation, and technology. Uranus’s disruptive energy here suggests a period of rapid advancements, breakthroughs, and upheavals in how we connect, learn, and move through the world. However, with Gemini’s dual nature, this period could feel paradoxical. While immense innovation is likely, confusion, disconnection, and information overload may also rise. Will we use these tools to connect or to divide? That’s the challenge Uranus in Gemini presents us.

Saturn moves into Aries on May 24, 2025

Saturn will move into Aries on May 2025, so anyone born with their Saturn in Aries will experience their first or second Saturn Return. If you have this natal placement, 2025 will be a year for you!

Saturn is known as the ‘strict father figure’ of the planets rules discipline, structure, and life’s challenging lessons. This planet teaches us how to be responsible and make something of our lives. When placed in Aries, the first sign of the zodiac known for its impulsive and fiery spirit, this transit creates a powerful tension between the need for structure (Saturn) and the drive for spontaneous action (Aries). This dynamic period asks you to master self-control while expressing your authentic self, all while facing challenges that demand courage and integrity.

A Saturn Return in Aries is one of the most transformative astrological milestones, giving us a period of intense growth, ‘growing up’, and self-discovery. Occurring approximately every 28-31 years, Saturn returns to the sign it occupied at your birth, initiating a phase where the universe pushes you to step up and face your deepest fears and lessons. Aries, ruled by Mars, represents boldness, independence, and action, and when Saturn journeys through this fire sign, it demands you to confront these themes with maturity and responsibility. I see the Saturn Return as the phase in your life where you really ‘grow up’.

Even if you don’t have Saturn in Aries natal, this wil be a time of profound change. Especially with all the other big planetary shifts, we will notice a lot of change when it comes to how we approach self expression and our personal goals and dreams.

Jupiter moves into Cancer on June 9, 2025

The planet of luck and abundance will move from Gemini to Cancer. My predications are that we will focus more on finding a home. Family matters and roots will become more important. We may even see an increase in people going to therapy or doing family constellations. This is because the sign of Cancer is a sensitive sign connected to our roots and deepest emotions. Jupiter in Cancer will bring us back to our core and help us connect to our more emotional side, this can be a healing thing for everyone. However, Jupiter expands and enlarges everything it touches. We may see more outbursts, family drama or domestic violence come to light. I am not convinced Jupiter always brings sugar, spice and everything nice so keep in mind that we might see some beautiful healing next to some darker traits of Cancer: manipulation and jealousy.

Cancer, ruled by the Moon, governs home, family, roots, and emotional security. Jupiter’s expansive energy here will hopefully encourage most of us to create more comfort, nourishment, and stability in both our inner and outer worlds. The last Jupiter in Cancer transit occurred 2013 to 2014, a period marked by themes of emotional connection, family values, and the rise of nurturing collective movements. This energy can feel incredibly healing, especially after years of stress, chaos, or disconnection.

In 2025, Jupiter in Cancer invites us to create a safe harbor for ourselves. Personally, emotionally, and globally. It’s about learning to balance ambition and external achievements with the quiet wisdom of inner peace and belonging.

Eclipses in 2025

In 2025 we will deal with the Virgo and Pisces axis. Themes for this Eclipse will be: healing the physical and emotional, therapy, routines, wellness, perfectionism and acceptance. On march 13, 2025 we will have a Lunar Eclipse at 23° Virgo. On March 29 we will have a Solar Eclipse in the Sign of Aries at 8°. Months later on September 7, 2025 we will have a Lunar Eclipse at 15° Pisces. And lastly, we will have a Solar Eclipse at 28° Virgo on September 21st.

Remember that Eclipses happen 4 to 6 times a year and bring major shifts and breakthroughs. Solar Eclipses typically bring new beginnings where Lunar Eclipses usually bring endings. These beginnings and endings are often sudden and unexpected, but necessary. This is because Eclipses are linked to the Lunar Nodes, linked to our destiny. With the Eclipses falling into the signs of Virgo and Pisces in 2025, we can expect to have a lot of spiritual moments where we feel the need to listen to our intuition and surrender to these cosmic interventions.
